Subject:Re: Native Instruments B4 II

I am currently waiting for my B4 II to arrive; should have it by the
end of the week. I am looking forward to many of the new features,
including the new Leslie and amp sims (including "dual mode"), the
reverbs, adjustable leakage, and especially the ability to control it
with my Voce MIDI Drawbar unit with having to use MIDI-OX. I'm also
hoping the chorus/vibrato has been improved.

The NI B4 II web site doesn't specifically mention anything about new
tonewheels in the II version. So I'm not surprised to hear there's not
much difference. I happen to think the original B4 tonewheels sound
really good. I spent a couple of days A-B'ing it with my C3 a few
years ago and was impressed with how close they were. When I have the
choice, I always go to the B4 before my Electro.

Regarding the recent discussion about the samples on the Japanese
site, yeah, they're pretty bad. The original B4 samples that used to
be on NI's site were not very impressive, either. What are/were they
thinking?

I'll post my impressions after I've spent some time with v2. Possibly
create some sound samples of my own, too. FWIW, all of the organ clips
on my web page are recorded
with B4.
