Subject:Native Instruments B4 II
I've been playing around with a trial version of Native Instruments B4II
this morning. I'm using a Roland XP30 keyboard into a Mackie CFX16 mixer,
into a pair of Mackie SRM450s.
The interface has a lot more adjustments, and the tube and speaker box
emulations give additional variations. In A/B ing it with the original B4,
I'm not hearing a major difference in the tonewheel quality. There are so
many parameters now that its going to be a task to make a true apples to
apples comparison.
There are a few tiny bugs, such as that the Leslie 147 ugly side out or in
buttons are reversed, but overall, the presentation is sweet. I'm not sure
whether the sound differences, however, justify the price of an upgrade.
Has anyone else been been toying with this and have an opinion?
Regards,
Dave Bishop
