A guy I know (and have tried to get out playing again) used to play live drums at the disco
that was at the southwest corner of 72nd and Pacific long since bulldozed for First Data
Resources. The Ranch Bowl, where I have seen Wynton Marsalis and Little Feat (and has
hosted Warren Zevon, 311, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.) is also closed and is going to
become a WalMart, if you can believe it. When Little Feat played there last year, I had some
friends coming up from KC. When they saw the word "bowl" in the venue's name, I had
visions of them thinking "Hollywood Bowl" or something. For better or for worse, the
"bowl" part of the name refers to the attached bowling alley and not to any amphitheater
type of setting. Still, it was a nice small venue to hear live music. We will miss them.

The show with Anchondo was great. I was probably more than 20 years over the median
age for any of of the bands or the audience, but it was a great time. Check out their
recordings on iTunes or CDBaby.com.
