Subject:A cool idea to try....
Wether live or recording in your studio, a stereo-widener or "wow
effect" used properly, seems to open up your digital rotary effect, and
appears to add more depth to the vibrato of the spinning horn.
But the idea is to find the "sweet spot" (not much more than 25-35%
applied effect) so you don't over-saturate the effect, which will
garble the whole tone into an unpleasant mess. Also, lower reverb
volume, or else the reverb will be "louder" than you may want, in the
organ mix.
Go grab some mp3 demos from different clones and try it out, and see
what new sounds you can get out of it.
If you don't have VST tools, you can try it with WindowsMediaPlayer, go
to the Wow effect settings, and move the slider up to apply the
widening effect.
I applied it to my vk8m and opened up some new sounds that I really
liked. I may post a few examples when I get a chance.
