wished the bars would go to "11". now that a device like the 8M exists, you
can do that. Amplification has a lot to do with getting the most out of the 8M
or any clone for that matter and so does EQ. Attenuation of high frequencies
are more than often needed and boosting low is also an answer. To my mind there
is more raw power in an 8M (my clone of choice) than there is in a B. The
synthesis of its design gives an extended frequency response and tools to
compensate for amplification, where as a real B was pre-set to only go so far, past
technology noted. rather than look at the 8M as a hinderance, it has the power
to go beyond a real B because it is newer technology and incorporates many of
the nuances the use of a B3 and a 122 has taught us over the last decades. at
this point the mind is the limiting factor here, not the instrument. hence
wrap your mind around the 8M or your clone of choice, because that's what we did
to the B3 and look where that got us.>>
My personal experience is that the B3 is fine right out of the "box". I just pull out the 16' drawbar and I get what I need. I find that with the Vk-8, there isn't such a "sweet spot" regardless of whether I use 84 or 80 or 88 or whatever, which makes it less powerful to me.

the 16' pedal drawbar will be more than sufficient. Otherwise using

I have tried this but it sounds too thin to my taste. There's not enough 8' tone in the 16' drawbar, and too many overtones in the 8' to allow it to fill the gap usefully.
