Subject:RE: XK-3 malfunction--HELP!
I had an electro that seized up several times at home or at gigs and came to
halt completely at a gig on the dreaded E11 error that was so bad that
clavia replaced the whole thing and gave me a new one. Maybe I just had a
bad apple.
I now gig with a Roland VR760 (V-combo) and a Roland Fantom X7. These are
gigged twice a week at events from wild parties to low key functions, jazz
clubs to local pubs. I have never had Roland gear fail.
By the way, I've just put the new Roland SRX011 piano card into the Fantom
next to the SRX02 piano card so I can compare them both to the Fantoms new
internal piano and can compare the lot to the VR760 piano - still on the
search for piano heaven! Once you have played around and tweeked all the
piano sounds I find that the SRX02 is best although some will say the
samples are short it works for me. I don't like the Fantom pianos or the
new SRX011 and therefore my next fav between the lots is the VR760. This
has been tweaked to death over the last years or so of gigging with it and
it sounds best with just a little of the electric grand from the SRX07 card
to give it a little sparkle. I do find that the electric grand from SRX07
also sound great at gigs all by itself, especially anything thats loud.
Anyway - just my tuppence worth
