Subject:Re: CASIO WK- SERIES "Drawbar Organ" COMMENTS?

Let me add my thoughts to this discussion since I own a WK-3500
myself. If you're buying it just to have organs, don't bother. It's
not really worth it. I use it for the other sounds and drums so it's
good for that much. The leslie simulator is nothing more than a
rotating speaker simulator...it doesn't emulate 2 rotors and since
there is no crossover emulation, what would be the point. The organ
tones themselves might be usable if they had a decent leslie
simulator. But the higher notes sound too cheap. The drawbars only
have 4 settings which is the equivalent of 0-3-5-8. And anyway it just
doesn't have the Hammond sound. I bought a Roland VK-8M organ module
last month and wow, what a difference. That thing sounds like a B3. I
play a C3 every week and I play the Roland in between and the two are
almost identical. If I could do it differently, I would've probably
skipped the WK-3500 and gone straight for something a little more
worth my while.
