Subject:Comment on Casios....
Hello .....I did get a Casio CTK 691 which is the 61 key version about a
year or so ago. The organ is somewhat functional, though I am not wild about it.
The leslie sim is actually not too bad but the percussion is really
unacceptable. The 80800000 lower manual sound is not too bad. Also keep in mind that
the keyboard feel is not the greatest, at this price ( I paid 179 dollars).
The thing I DO like on the Casio is the 70's electric piano....it does a
pretty good Rhodes as far as I am concerned. I actually PREFER it to some of the
Rhodes sounds in my Yamaha S 30. I usually play it an octave down and I love
to take this thing out in the backyard and practice outdoors.
There are some other note worthy sounds in the new Casio. The vibes are
particularly nice, and the saxophones will surprise you. But it is that Rhodes
sound for practicing that I use the most.
The older CTK 671 has the same 70's electric piano sound and these can
sometimes be found for bargain prices.
