Subject:XK-3 replaced TUBES with 12AX7A WOW!!!

WOWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

I just loaded a set of 12ax7a Made in Britain VM (voice of music)
tubes and I have created a MONSTER!!! Not sure of the year, still
researching. Must be late 50's mid 60's.

THANK YOU jjmcs49 for this suggestion of adding vintage tubes! I
found this old reel to reel tape deck in my garage that my family
has had for years and decided to see what tubes it had inside. I am
now officially a tube junky. I will spend the rest of my life
searching Goodwill and garage sales for old amp/recording equipment.

If you have any sense in you GO AND REPLACE THESE CHEAP CHINESE
TUBES that came with the XK-3!!! WOW what a difference!!!

This recorder also had a set of USA 12au7. Does anyone have input if
these will work too. Just don't want to loose this sound for now.
