Gotta agree with this. The XK-3 does sound better than any of the
other clones, untweaked, straight out of the box. The SE adds ever more balz and
such. I feel though, that the tube in the XB-3 is worthless and was put in to
shut up the, "Hey, why don't you put the tubes back in" folks. It adds a tad
more tone if you turn it up to just before the light starts changing but for
grind, it's a joke. The SE takes care of that and then some. Will never be
without one. Current rig is XK-3 > Classic SE (One of the first five ever made) > MS
KBR3-D. I play straight ahead hard rock and this rig does what I need it to
