I saw the Fixx probably 10 times during the 80s, and they were smoking. Vocalist was great, guitarist superb, the synth guy was awesome (Prophet T8, DX7, Akai keyboard sampler and vocoder at the time was his rig), and the bassist (Danny K. Brown) was a MOTHER!!!!! I saw them about 5 years ago and they were WEAK. New bassist not so happening, and the drummer made the rhythms sag hard.

different. The DX7 and everything I heard it on made me switch from
keys to bass for about 5 years. I truly hated it. It wasn't until
The Fixx (another totally UNDERRATED synth player and band), INXS,
The Psychedelic Furs and other 80s stuff that I got interested in
keyboards again.
Wasn't the guitar player the "hot guy" from the Fixx? INXS I
saw live in Canada, they were terrible, an example of a band with
strong records that couldn't play. They opened for the "Go Go's" who
sounded way better than you might expect. I had an offer from
the "Fur's", turned it down, didn't dig them, even though they had
the incredible Paul Garisto on drums. TZ
