Subject:Re: To CX-3 owners: do you use a hardware Leslie?

There's a HUGE difference between a leslie and a sim; there' sa huge difference between a leslie and Pro3t and a Leslie 21. The aural aspect changes immensely, giving you more tone, more girth, and more grunt...everything is less "sheeny", and has a nice growl. Assuming you're starting with a decent leslie to begin with, maintenance is pretty nominal. In 9 years, I've replaced 2 belts and one horn (and I didn't need to replace the horn, just decided to examine the difference). The leslies go everywhere, and until just recently, sat in the truck all week in the extreme Chicago cold, and extreme Chicago heat. If you get lazy like I did, and do that in the winter, just let the leslie come up to room temperature (sit for an hour) before firing it up so that oil has a chance to thin out. Buy a padded cover to keep it looking nice and you are good to go.

Hi all.

I'm a happy camper with my CX-3 (v 2) and I would like to know if
you CX-3'ers are using a Pro-3 T or a Leslie 21 instead of the
internal sim.

If yes, what's te "real world" difference in the sound you are
getting.

I know that you are moving air, blah blah blah, but please, the
question is for Non purists, is there a BIG difference in the sound
compared to the internal sim?

And another: is maintenance on these units a pain in the butt or
they are maintenance free, almost?

Thanks
