Thanks for the great advice. I'm going to try removing the bottom
piece like you said.
I always set the slider after the boards are on.
I went to Home Depot and bought some of that shelf liner. It's about
1/8" thick and has a consistency like foam only the surface isn't
porous. I glued that to the bottom of the XK3 and left the Apex
brackets alone. I have this stiff piece of foam under the back of
the XK3 so it raises up about 2-3". When I set the XK3 down on the
brackets they bite into the foam on the bottom of the XK3 and it goes
no where. It is very stable.
The S80 is a shorter profile from front to back. Yes, the Motif is a
boat anchor and I rarely use it live.
The problem with the S80 is that I have to move it toward me on the
longer brackets so I can see the display. It is still too heavy and
one good crack and the whole thing wobbles.
I really like the fact that I can close up the Apex in about 30
seconds and move out. It's all a matter of what we're willing to put
up with.
If I were to use two Apex's wouldn't the keyboards be directly over
each other?
That would really not work since the XK3 has to be over and back from
the S80. Unless you have used it and you have a way to move the
organ back so the placement is somewhat like the manuals on a B3.
