Subject: [CWSG] new 2101 arrangement

I fell into a new way of setting up my 2101/Mackie SR450.
This might be old news for some or all of you but here it goes
anyway.
I was at the gig here in the heart of the oven and did the following
with my 2101, Mackie 1404 and my SR450.
I ran a Shure 58 on the 2101 but not directly aimed at the horn-more
like pointing straight up but in front of the control side. That mic
goes into my 1404. I then ran the rotor output into the 1404 as
well. then this all goes to the 450. I usually don't run the horn
mic through the Mackie as it has been enough for close work and just
not needed. Sometimes it gets buried but not often.
My Motif es 7 goes to the 1404/450 as well.
I then use the aux channels of the 1404 to send all of that to the
monitor/splitter-foh.
1 aux for organ (high and low) and the Motif on the other aux.
On Saturday I thought I'd like to try a bit of the horn in my 450
which I haven't done before.
WHOAAAA Baby!!! That thing screamed like a banshee!
Talk about getting the guitar players attention!
I now can easily walk all over any guitar crap that our two crack
virtuoso's in training try to throw at me. They're actually good
players but haven't managed to learn that they aren't the focal point
of the band. Neither of them understands what rhythm guitar is.
The chick with the big HANDS is the star. These children! I
digress...
I think that it even sounded a bit tighter since the horn and rotor
were coming from the same place.
Made a huge difference in sound.
Now, no more bull from the Blackmore Brothers.
Talk about getting someone's attention!
My next step is to find another SRM 450 and use those bad boys in
tandem. I'll have those little guitar brats on their knees begging
for mercy and crying in submission. When the keyboard player finds
his audiological groove it's hell when it's pay back time.
FREE ADVICE: Run, don't walk to the Guitar Center and pony up for
two 450s you won't be sorry. That amounts to about 900 watts of
romping keyboard blast. Probably a bit overstated by Mackie but
nonetheless LOUD.
Heh heh, there's more than one way to beat a guitar player into
submission.
