Subject:Re: A short review of the Speakeasy preamp

Well, I use rack pres now (I own 2); but even when I had the floor model, I had Steve wire me a jack to use an external pedal, because I don't like the on/off approach: I use a momentary switch so fast is just a "momentary" thing. But if you're kicking the knobs on your floor model, I can see where this would be a problem. I suggest either figuring out how to finesse it (I used to do it even standing while playing, so if I can do it, you can too!), or mod the pedal so you can use a remote footswitch.

tony, if you keep your preamp on top of the leslie, then how do you
change your leslie speed? that is part of why i complain about the
knobs; while i'm playing (without a pedalboard) my left foot kind of
hangs around the preamp pretty often, so it would be easy to hit the
knobs unintentionally. anyway, maybe it's not such an important issue
i guess...
