Subject:How many Leslies?

I've noticed that some of you use multiple Leslie's when the venue
allows. It seems that many big names use one a Leslie monitor behind
the organist, with another mic'd back stage.

I've used one as a monitor, and two others on either side of the
stage, or sometimes two stacked behind me with one mic'd.

I know some people liked the choppy sound of using one Leslie mic'd,
which may otherwise be diluted by using multiple Leslies. And of
course, in large venues where the PA carries all the sound, it would
seem useless to use multiple Leslies.

Tony, and you other pros - what's the formula for determining how many
and where to locate mic'd and unmic'd Leslie's?
