Subject:Re: What's the better clone, a Voce V5+ or Nord Electro?

Both are great clones and it really depends on your tastes. Having
owned both, I like the Nord Electro better than the V5+. This is of
course totally subjective, but below are some observations of the
two:

- The percussion is a little less prominent on the Electro,
especially in the lower half of the keyboard.

- The improved C/V on the V5+ is still not as good as the Electro's
C/V.

- The Electro can have a lot of low and high end (tweakable through
the EQ section), and the V5+ is more of a midrange-y sound, probably
more authentic. However, I've noticed that just turning on the
Electro's overdrive (set to zero or one) boosts the midrange and
improves the overall tone a lot.

- V5+ has no onboard EQ.

- The V5+ is less shrill in the upper octave than the Nord, but I
think it is at a cost to the rest of the tone, which is somewhat dark
for my tastes.

- The Electro's 1' drawbar gets more whistle, more like my A100.

- The Electro's overdrive is more believable.

- The V5+'s output has mucho grande ballz.

I always gig with a Leslie, but it's nice to know the internal sim of
the Electro is always there for back up. Also, it's great just
bringing one keyboard for rehearsals.
