I have checked the shipping option with UPS. From what the website
calculates for 20 kg, I will be able to buy two and a half SKB cases:-)) Is
SKB the prefereed choice, though? It appears that they did a good job in
Iraq. What about the Gator cases, they are a little less expensive.. Any
opinion on that around?
Rental may be an option, that.s a good idea. I will investigate that.
Thanks a lot,
Harold

Another solution. Would you consider shipping it to the destination ahead
of time if you still have the carton box? Lots of people ship their baggage
that way to avoid the whole airport baggage handling problems involving
oversized and over-weight items. With the excellent tracking systems of
today you could keep a better eye on it than with the Airport personnel.
Maybe call ahead to a music store for a rental utilizing your memory
systems. The reason being is that I was involved with the construction of
the new International West Airport terminal in Philly. I know the systems
they use and, the attitude of the baggage handlers throughout the country
are at a understandable low. Maybe a road trip. Best of luck.

Would you suggest other solutions, or is it ok to use a gig bag this one
time?
