Subject:Re: CX-3 Version 1 to 2 Upgrade

While it's not very arguable that the method of upgrading to v.2 is poor design, the reality is that the CX-3 v.1 was never designed
to be user upgradeable in the first place. However, as Korg developed the BX-3 they implemented a few "fixes" that they missed with
the CX-3, and additionally there were a lot of suggestions from this group for bug fixes and additional parameter settings that were
passed on to Korg's tech developers via Jerry K.. Korg then decided that it was worth it to upgrade the CX-3 to the BX-3's specs,
but unfortunately since this was all an after-thought, the method to upgrade is somewhat flawed, however IMHO well worth the small
risk involved. I wound up taking my CX-3 to a Korg certified repair dealer to have it done because at the time I didn't have that
stable of a PC situation, but there are a lot of guys who've done their own upgrade with no problems whatsoever. It only takes
about 20 minutes and most Korg dealers will do it for $20 or less.
