Yes. This is a common fault of the Vk7 and is due to an earthing problem
with the power supply board. It's a while since I've done it but you need
to open it up and tighten up the screws that hold the power supply board in
place. When I had my VK7, I had to do it periodically. Now that I think of
it in retrospect, you could fix it permanently by soldering a permanent
earth wire in place.
