Subject:Hammond/Nord two-manual?
The honeymoon continues with my XK-3, BUT...
Hauling it up and down stairs to band practices is getting old, so I
jumped on a fellow cloner's Electro 73 which recently went up for sale
(thanks Mark!). Now I can leave my Hammond/Yamaha rig set up at home
and take the Electro for practices; much less time and effort, great
organ sounds, and the infamous Nord piano will be adequate for the
half-dozen songs I do on piano.
But there's more...the Electro's width is just a hair less than the
distance between the inside of the XK-3's endblocks. If I can build a
wooden "box" with the ends flush with the Hammond's, similar to the
wood structure in the XK system's lower manual, the Nord could slide
right underneath, the distance between the two keybeds would be just a
little more than on a B3, and I'd have a killer two-manual organ
option. Holy versatility Batman!
I'm chubbin', this could really rock.
Keep it swingin' in 2006, and thanks again to the group for a non-stop
flood of info!
