Hi Chuck,

My 2 cents here,

Uh, if Steve Hayes came out with a new product that
was the slickest thing since sliced bread, I would
sure like to hear about it, wouldn't you?

OK, so the test is easy. If someone is endlessly
promoting something to benefit them financially, and
is not of great value to the group, then their posting
should be questioned. But, at my last count, I think
I may have seen 2 or 3 total posts by anyone connected
with the magazine. All the other posts were from
people who have checked it out and were commenting on
it. And I think that is fine!

I have left some lists where restriction has been so
severe you can't say ANYTHING. I mean, if I start
talking about how great my CX-3 sounded in church last
Sunday, am I trying to get people to buy a Korg
product? Or lets's get more to your issue: if I
subscribe to the B3 Player e-mag and I learn some
really blues riff and I want to comment to others on
the list of how I learned it from that magazine, would
THAT message be banned?

Again, I think it comes down to how often anyone
related to the business promotes their own business.
I even think such a promotion is good once in a while.
How would we ever have known about that E-mag if we
did not hear of it on this list? I do think the e-mag
has been mentioned enough here that anyone associated
with the business should cease any further
promotion-type posts; we have all been pretty well
informed of its existence now.

Please just hang in there for a while. If it was as
bad as you think it might get, and this list turned
into a B3 Player e-mag forum, others may leave too.
But until then, let's just see where it goes.

Lou
