Subject:Re: How to Beef Up a used Roland KC-300 or 350

I don't know anything about that specific amp, but if it is the transformer
that is buzzing, I have a suggestion. Most transformers are made of a
series of iron plates sandwitched together in an interlocking fashion. The
plates are then pressed together and held with a rivet or screws and nuts.
When electricity is applied a magnetic field is generated, which sets the
plates to vibrating. That vibration loosens the rivet or screw and allows
the plates to buzz. If you can get access to the transformer, you can
tighten/ replace the screws and nut or reseat the rivets with a punch and
hammer. If you can't get access, you can paint the outside of the metal
plates only with an epoxy-based paint and let the paint harden before
plugging the amp back in, to dampen the vibration.
