Hi, I used to use a Fender Showman, and sometimes a Marshall JCM800 as a
substitute for the amps in my Leslies as they were such basket cases when I got
them. I have since totally rebuilt the Leslie amps and have went back to
that. I will have to say that with proper use of the tone controls Fender
blackface style amps sound great. I used to use an XB2 and an OB3/2 for upper/lower,
running each into it's own channel on the Fender, then thru the Leslie
speakers. It really did sound good.
