Subject:which midi controller to scrap?
Hey list!
I'm getting ready to attempt (and I stress attempt) to build a dual
manual controller. You may remember my last attempt at a project, the
Keystation Pro-88 destruction project, which failed miserably
(successful in that it was indeed destroyed). I did, however, keep
the control section, which would work great for a controller of this
type.
So here's my question - which 61 key controller should I be looking
for on eBay? I'm looking for something that will be easy to hook up,
maybe with a midi merge box (Bruce, can you help with this part?), and
cheap. So far I've seen some Evolution controllers that seem like
they would work, but since I haven't seen the inside of them, I would
be interested to hear from someone who has. I'm not opposed to
leaving all of the electronics intact and just connecting up some
standard midi cables on the inside of the controller. Certainly not
elegant, but it would get me what I wanted.
Something like this would be *awesome*: http://organ.vanzea.com/
FYI - I'm familiar with the B4ce board, but I don't necessarily have
to have something that will interface with that, just two boards that
I can get together on channel 1 and 2, and I can deal with proper
drawbar control with something else (just to make it simpler on me).
Hope this makes sense, let me know if it doesn't. Thanks!
Josh
