i'm looking for the same thing, but i got a simple 1u line mixer off of
ebay, so i only need 1 input now (or 2 speakers for stereo).. i've
heard really good things about the EV SXA line of powered speakers,
hearing that people prefer them *at volume* to the JBL EONs and Mackies,
but i want to hear all 3 before plunking down cash.. i've played with a
KC-300 for a while now and it can't cut through the band i'm in at all,
and doesn't maintain a flat freq response up in the higher volumes..
also, the box will vibrate itself apart before reaching highest volume,
which is unfortunate.. the thing i don't like about the KC-300 or other
multi-input amps is that i can't reach knobs when i need them,
invariably.. this is one of the reasons i went to the 1u mixer, to have
the levels in my rack by my hands, as opposed to out in front of the
guitarist or something..
