Walter, thanks for the suggestions.
A small bass amp was also my first thought but the compact good
sounding ones are expensive.
I looked at the Eden you mentioned and it would be just right but too
much $$$, the Fender would also work but it's too big and couldn't
leave it in my car without it being visible. And I already have a SWR
Basic Black that is about the same size.
You know, what I'm trying to do is to have a really portable
inexpensive rig that I can leave in my car, in the trunk so that it's
not visible, and not despair if something happens to it. I like to
get home, park my car, put my VK77 on my little cart and just go
home, no multiple trips.
The reason I was asking about the sub is because I played a club
where they had a sub with two small satellites and my VK sounded
great, with round punchy bass.
I already own two small speakers that can work as satellites and I'm
getting a small used sub (this one: http://www.sr-tech.net/sw180.htm
) for very little money. If it sounds ok, it will live in my my car,
if not I'll just resell it.
Then I could get the 2101 and use it at important gigs where I need
to sound at my best, with the SWR or with the sub.
Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting to much time, energy and money in
trying different combinations of stuff instead of shooting straight
and just buy the good stuff and live with the weight. But it's also
kind of fun to look for, buy and sell gear ;-)
