Subject:Re: fair CX-3 price

Getting a used CX3 from a store with a 30day return policy for $1100 is NOT getting hosed. If you were willing to pay that before finding the receipt, why should it affect you after finding the receipt? Because someone made money on it???

Regardless of what they put into it, that has nothing to do with what they got out of it.

Armed with the receipt of the prior deal, I would walk back into GC and demand a refund of the difference or return the CX-3. I would at least go back and renegotiate a lesser price. Your church got hosed, which in my experience not that uncommon.

That's a pretty standard Guitar Center deal = if someone's dumb
enough to let them sell their gear for them - GC gets 50%! If they
buy a piece of gear from someone because they think they can sell it,
then they sell it x 2 what they paid. The only deals I ever make with
GC are an offer to buy new/demo with cash/card in hand and ready to
walk out the door if they don't drop another 10-15% from their Green
Tag or whatever ..heh heh.. and "eat the tax" (I don't pay it). They
know how to back-figure tax into the total transaction so well, it's
easy to tell regular "experienced" employees - sometimes after
checking with the manager first - do it all the time. If you run into
a brick wall at a certain $$$ figure, that most likely really is
their bottom line, meaning almost no profit any lower. Walter j
