Subject:White Hot Tube


I bought some "salvage" 6550 tubes online that were advertised as
removed with low hours and tested to be in almost new condition. They
looked brand new. I briefly fired them up and they worked fine.

After storing them for too many years to complain to the seller, I put
them in my Leslie and they sound good for a few minutes. Then the
level drops and the sound becomes distorted and one of them becomes
blazing hot.

Any suggestions?
