Subject:Re: 2101 or Pro 3 Tm with amp or 2101?
Hey Bird...
By Electro sim, I meant the "sim on the Electro." I own and use the methods in my previous post. I used to own a Pro145 (but sold it in favor of the 2101), used to own a Pro3t/LoPro (sold it, wasn't that happy with its tone-to-convenience factor; although lighter than my leslie, my leslie required one cable where as 5 connections were needed with the Pro3t/LoPro combination). I owned a CX3 for a short while, but ended up returning the keyboard; it just wasn't a good fit for me. I use a leslie primarily, and I wasn't all that happy with the CX3 through the leslie; it did not suck by any means, but it just wasn't as good or convincing as other gear I owned at the time, like my Voce V5, Hammond XK2, or VK7. (all of which I've sold) Way back in the day, I owned an analog CX3 and Dynacord CL333 too.
I only rated the items I currently own and use, but if I were to rate the others, they would be even lower on the list than the Electro, which is why I sold them.
As for why your CX3 has lost some character, make sure you have turned your leslie sim off before pumping it into the 2101. Also make sure you have the low-rotor-out of the 2101 hooked up to something for the lowest frequencies.
Hope this helps....

Tony,
By "Electro sim", do you mean the company that makes Electro, Clavia
I believe, or do you
mean
Leslie simulation in general? I assume you mean Electronic sim
in general, but I am not
certain.
So the Motion stuff was, what? never played by you or?
Have you played the CX3? Do you like its sim?
Any guess why the CX3 seemed to lose something of it's great
character when played thru
the 2101? I never changed the Amp type to "Pre amp"- could that have
been my oversight?
thanx
