Subject:RE: Duran Duran keyboard / Wave hand to control sound

I just saw them recently and he had what appeared to be two of the Roland
V-synths. One in front above an Alesis Andromeda and one on the side above a
Kurzweil K2000. He also had a Mac laptop running god knows what??? He
recreated all the old Jp-8 stuff(Arpeggiation, etc.) he's known for
flawlessly. I thought they sounded great live (to my surprise) I've always
been a fan but didn't know what to expect live. I would love it if Keyboard
magazine would do an in depth interview with him and discuss how he
recreates some of this stuff on newer gear. I've found some of it quite
daunting if not impossible...

Duran Duran's keyboardist would wave his hand over his keyboard in a
light to control the sound. Does anyone know what type of keyboard has
this?
