Subject:Re: Invisible stand supports needed
I love Invisible stands. I have 4 of them now. One for rehearsal
space, one for home, one for the road and one for spare parts. I
used to have a 5th one, but sold that to another regular on this
forum.
As for the black rubber things, I used to have more than one set of
them, but nowadays I think I'm down to one pair that is mounted on
my home stand. They are handy for making the upper keyboard tilt.
I don't use them on the gig, because I have velcro wrapped all
around the stand bars and on the bottom of my keyboards to keep them
from budging.
As for replacing the twisty tension wire thing, the main ingredient
is a new turnbuckle. You can get these at Lowe's - look on the
aisle where they sell chain by the foot and you'll find plenty of
sizes. I always keep an extra one handy, because they can wear
out. The other part is a rigid piece of metal on my stands, but you
could substitute just about any kind of cable, like bicycle brake
cable or rubber-coated bike lock style cable. Even rope would
work. Look on the same aisle in Lowe's and there are numerous
options.
