Subject:Re: Invisible stand supports needed
As to the large rubber disks...try any industrial rubber supply companies in any large city and they can usually cut you a "disk" from a length of solid rubber tube stock. You would need to tell them the thickness of the disk you wanted and you would have to drill the center hole, also it would not have the taper. As to the support wire, any hardware store or Home Depot of the world would have braided wire rope that you could make one out of. I would think that the wire rope used to hang large pictures would be plenty heavy enough. Figure out how long a piece you need, twist the ends to a loop and solder the twisted ends so they do not lossen up. You could even cover the rope with a thin rubber hose or shrink wrap tubing if you wanted to.
Curious, what do you use the large rubber disks for anyhow? I have one of these stands and have no clue what they are for!

Late to jump on this thread, but now that Chuck is sorted, I have a similar
need.
I'm missing the wire that attaches to the 2 halves of the stand and tightens by
twisting. Anyone have any ideas for replacing that?
