Hello Clonies.
I am using a Bass Pre amp. The Alembic F1-X into my Pro-3. I purchased it used for my old P bass, tried it with the XB-2 into my old M/S pro-3 and it's still in the keyboard system. I run the F1-X at about 3/4 and the M/S at around 1/4. I push this through a pair of Barbetta Sona 32 c's.

Now you're getting personal. My first amp was a Sears Silvertone. We have
a couple nationally recognized guitar boutiques here, and I was shocked to
find an old tube Silvertone head being offered for $550. Apparently it has
a recognized "tone" that is valuable to somebody. No accounting for taste,
but I'm sure I paid around $95 for my Silvertone back in the day.
My only beef with Behringer is the hollow pre-amps in their Eurodesk mixers.
Not acceptable for recording in my opinion. There isn't much of a "brand"
level of quality among the various product lines. Behringer works OK in
certain applications. Low quality components do make a difference in
critical parts of the signal chain.
