Subject:Re: Volume pedals for clones?
The FC7 won't work with the V5.

Karl,
I've tired several, but not with your exact setup, so I'm not sure how these would work with the Voce V5.
For my XK-3 the Hammond model designed for it works good, but on a couple of my other clones I have had good luck with a Yamaha FC-7 http://www.music123.com/Yamaha-FC7-Volume-Pedal-i11789.music , which you may need to reverse the tip and ring connections to work on you rig, and a "el-cheap-o" from Quicklok that works ok too. http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--QLKVP15

Man, I have gone round and round on this. My Voce V5 puts out a hot
20volts 'peak to peak'. I *think* that translates to a hot +4 input
on a mixer, not that anyone would ever plug a V5 directly into a
mixer.
I did my best to find a good volume pedal and got a nice Morley ProII
powered volume pedal with a very clean opto-pot. Except that the
Morley line is designed for 'instrument' level, i.e. guitar, and not
line level. Evidence indicates I may be overdriving the input on the
Morley from the V5, so I've cut down the V5 output.
But then I've got a MS Pro3T/LoPro setup, and feedback in another
forum indicates that at least one player likes to run a Speakeasy in
front of the MS input.. so it can probably take all the V5 can send
it.
Except I have this (relatively) low level guitar pedal inbetween.
Would an Ernie Ball passive pedal, as Dave Amels suggests, pass
(when 'floored', of course) all 20V to the input of the MS? (Right
or wrong I associate passive pedals with dirty pots and crackling.)
Why aren't there keyboard - level volume pedals for us and the
general community of synth keyboard players?
What do YOU use between your clone and your amplification, and do you
recommend it?
thx, karl
