The Mackies have a lot of routings etc and as with any piece of equipment might not have *every* thing posible exactly as you might want it.

I am not fond of the headphone out only being active with a certain button press. Mostly I like the thing.

I don't know if it still applies but by calling 800/898-3211 you could get some direct answers.

Also get the manual. The one I have with my 1402 VLZ is quite complete and also happens to be fun reading!
