I use the Studio Platinum model and like it alot. I have no A/B samples to share with you, although I have done the A/B test myself while playing to see how it sounds. I have done this test both thru my PA system and through a pair of Leslies. I built two different A/B stomp boxes so I could switch between with and without the preamp live as I was playing. In my opinion there is a difference, although it is not at all the effect like I had at first thought adding the preamp would produce. I thought it would be like adding a lot of "tube distortion" to get that dirty Deep Purple, Santana tyoe of sound. If you crank the preamp all the way uo it does add some distortion but not a super amount. If you use a Leslie the natural tube over drive that they have at max volume add that type of dirt. What the Speakeasy does do is to change the overall sould of the clones to have a much warmer, more natural B3 Hammond sound to them. On the upper drawbars and upper notes on the keyboard is where
you will notice it the most.
As to a audio A/B sample there was a guy on the Nord Electro Yahoo group that had one of both a organ clone and a Rhodes, via his Electro board. If you belong to that group you may be able to find out who he is and listen to the difference by the samples he posted on his web site.
