we always say that valves "smooth out" the sound. Also, listen to the
difference between a Harry Joyce Hiwatt amp and one of those crappy Acoustic
amps that were popular with the Doors and Spirit. (actually, the Doors
rebuilt their Acoustics so that they would sound better)....
