David is right (again!). I had my Bulldog out this weekend and our recent batch of shows have been outdoors. I've been augmenting my leslie with a 2101 (thanks to my stereo rack Speakeasy pre) and wouldn't you know it, first song yesterday Bulldog took a crap. THANKFULLY the 2101 was right there and saved my butt. Just as loud as my Bulldog (with just a little less bass), and all I had to do was adjust the mic claw to get the 2101 in the PA.
These things are great, and man, they are easy to move. I only had one with me, and as for volume problems, I had no issues hearing it. The sound guys doing the event had a nice big wedge for me....that was totally dead, nothing coming out (schmucks!). And while I heard that I was the victim of guitar/soundguy-itis (what a shock), at least on stage we could hear the mini-leslie just fine. The band didn't even realize the Bulldog had died.
Makes me think I should just make life easier and go to the 2101 all the time.

Try the 2101 before you purchase a 145 or larger leslie. You may be
surprised....

your xk3 choice lessens the sound problem. a 145 will only add to it as
i'm
sure you know. some complain that the 145 is harder to maneuver than a 122
because of its squareness but it is smaller. there are serious players and
then
there are SERIOUS players. some of us fall in between those two. you know
what
you have to do.
