Subject:Have v-combo blues, moving on ...

I decided to get rid of my v-760 because of it's 3 well known major
design flaws:

1. No assignable outputs
This really stinks bad! Was trying to cover "Up on Cripple Creek"
with my band which requires a wah-wah'd clav in the left hand, and
alternatively organ, or piano in the right.

Impossible on the v-combo! First I need to run just the signal from
the clav to a wah pedal, and piano straight out, and organ to a
Motion Pro. Impossible everything is wah'd and leslified.

2. No organ split
All I can say is give me a flippin' break Roland! Drop the d-beam,
the v-link, the stupid rhythms, and give me an Organ split!!!!

3. Not Multi-timbral
This instument is only 3 part Multi-timbral. It does not work with
a sequencer. Even then, I cannot choose two instruments from the same
section (which is what the #2 problem is really all about).

I've moved on and I'm really tired of Roland using gimmickry to make
up for their obvious lack of substance. I now own a brand new Yamaha
S90 which has a much more refined interface, much better sound
quality, and real synthesis capabilities. It's a refreshing change.
As far as organ sounds go, I will break down and buy a XK3. I've come
to the conclusion that combining an organ and synth into an "all in
one" keyboard is as impractical as combininng a high performance
sports car with a full size truck ... how would you do it ??? You
wouldn't!!! So the long and short is, don't try it! Don't imagine it!
Lug around the 2 or 3 keyboards and forget about it.

Sorry so long winded and thanks for letting me vent ;)
