What I did was put gaffers tape over the door of the column where the tribars are stored, and then applied the fuzzy side of velcro on the gaffers tape. (Obviously, don't tape it so that you can't open the compartment door, just tape it over the door itself.) I used gaffers tape on everything so that later, when I changed my mind or my rig, I just pulled the tape off with no annoying residue left behind.
I then applied strategically applied the gaffers tape to the bottom of the keyboard, and then put the hook side of velcro over the tape. (Strategically means so that the keyboard velcro will attach to the Apex velcro; use a much larger swatch of Velcro on the keyboard so that you don't have to be "exact" on the placement of the keyboard on the stand.)
Then I would use the smaller tribars, insert them in the clamp, and drop the clamp down a couple inches from the top of the Apex column. Go to the hardware store, spend a dollar, and get a 4pack of rubber rings (I never remember where I find this stuff, but I'm guessing it's the plumbing section.) The rings should be VERY tight against the Tribar, just barely fitting over the end of it with some struggle; push the ring about an inch up from the end of the tribar.
Now, place your keyboard at the top of the column and tilt down, and further adjust the rubber O-rings so that your keyboard rests against the rings at a distance you like. The snugness of the rings will prevent them from being advanced by the weight of your keyboard, and will hold the keyboard very securely in place. Now you'll just have to adjust the height of the tribar clamp and the distance of the O-rings to your taste.
The upside is now your top keyboard is pitched downward at an angle, making it easier to play, and it opens up an area of vision for the controls of your lower keyboard. The downside is this will be pretty hard to play sitting down unless you're pretty tall; it also means you'll have to store the O-ringed tribars somewhere other than your Apex column; you don't want to keep removing the O-rings as they will stretch and lose their fastenability (not to mention it's a lot of extra work!).

With the Apex the pedal thing was a bit of a challenge since putting
a sustain and volume pedal where I usually like it is way to far
forward to get it past the floor supports. SO, I got a piece of
thick dense foam from a local case company and now the pedals sit
mostly on the foam with the front parts sitting on the right leg.
The foam holds the pedals in place with no sliding around and I can
set the position anywhere I like it.
Man, do I ever like that one piece 1 minute setup. I got the silver
one and it looks very cool.

Now if I could just figure out how to use the XK3 over the S80 so I
can see the S80 readout window.
Advice? suggestions? S80 remote window that sits on the XK3. The
other problem is that with the top keybaord sitting almost directly
over the S80 the actually keys are under the XK3.
