That is how it is set up on the XK-3. I think I read somewhere that the
bass tones were not improved/the effect wasn't all that noticeable, but
that the bass tones going through those effects didn't blend well with
the higher frequencies. I don't know that I explained it very well but
basically it sounded better this way.
