Subject:RE: CX3 SETTINGS FOR EMERSON'S L-100/LESLIES?

Hi Adam, I am not offering any drawbar advice but what "Masters From The Vault" disc is this one? Just The Nice? I think a lot of the "spinet sound" was just a bit more "midrangy" sound. Over driven of course. I always just play a recording of the song with the sound I am after and listen and tweak. I recommend EMO's book " Pictures of an Exhibitionist" for a great history of The Nice. A great read.

Subject: [CWSG] CX3 SETTINGS FOR EMERSON'S L-100/LESLIES?

Any ideas? KE gets such a unique sound from that spinet. I just watched the
"Rondo" track from the MASTERS FROM THE VAULTS disc... he's just SO amazing!

I think it's really cool that Emerson used so strongly, an L-100 with The
Nice. For the first 10+ years I knew their music, I didn't know it wasn't
always the C-3 (no internet/DVDs/almost no VHS recordings of ELP, let along of The
Nice, back when). I knew he used a C-3 during the latter-day Nice, circa
"Elegy" and "Nice".

I thought it would be interesting to hear others' ideas re overdriven L-100
settings, specifically for a CX3. I never even considered this... that is,
inquiring re how to get my Korg to sound like a spinet and not a C-3, or
whatever! Any ideas greatly appreciated - thanks in advance and best wishes (and
if you haven't seen the above DVD yet, go for it - a fine piece of historical
Hammond-drenched progressive rock) - Adam
