Subject:Re: XK3 midi velocity problem

As odd as it might seem it does send velocity. One of the things it
does is to enable you to play the percussion with velocity so that
the harder you hit the key the louder the percussion sounds.
It also has 3 EXTERNAL zones that allow you to set midi channels that
send midi signals to different instruments or modules.
Until a couple of hours ago I couldn't seem to get mine to send
velocity. It will send a midi signal but the details won't work
until you set the general zone for the detail of EXT. I found the
EXT zone setting in the midi menu thanks to jjmcs49. It was right
under my nose all the time. I kept going to that menu only to miss
it by not paging in the correct direction.
Unfortunately for me, I'm not much of a manual reader and instead
rely on my search and find technique to get the darn things to work.
Believe it or not, I did go through the manual but completely missed
the section on setting up the keyboard for external zones. IN my
world all midi stuff SHOULD be found under the menu marked MIDI.
After setting that you must exit the midi menu and go to the Zones
menu.
Oh well, thanks to the list member who pointed that out.
My right brain does not function well at all and moves in different
dimensions rather than in a straight line like the manual does.
Thanks again,
Chuck
