Subject:XK3 midi velocity problem
I must be missing the directions on this programming of velocity send
on the XK3.
I've changed all three of the EXT zones but still there is no
velocity being sent by the XK3 to the piano module.
Also, if I set the midi ch # to match the module it sounds like it
does when you play a controller and send the message back to the same
controller. You get two sounds. So you turn the local off on your
controller to eliminate a double note. That doesn't work with the
XK3.
On the XK3 I have to turn the midi channel off so this doesn't
happen.
I can get sound from the slave module but no velocity at all.
I called HS and they just hemmed and hawed and said something about
calling Japan.
Now we're in real trouble.
Has anyone else encountered this and if so what is the solution? It
can't be that they would produce a keyboard that allows you to set
the velocity but doesn't send it out to another keyboard or module.
Once I get it to work (hopefully)how do I call up the particular ext
zone that I want to use without going through all of the steps to get
into the menu and programs?
Somebody needs to rewrite this manual. HS has learned nothing from
Yamaha on English translations of Japanese owner's manuals. What a
bleeping mess.
There is also no tech support on-line for HS which figures as well
and my dealer has no solution either.
In this case one might as well just buy an old B3 and chop it down as
you have to call a technician if you need it fixed. Most of these
church folks will have strokes if they try to program the new B3.
Who do they call for help when reading the manual fails.
