Sorry I've been away modeling other crap... Good to see great tech
discussions on this list. I'm sorry I've missed the original post
about your proposal but here's what you should consider if you're
going to make an analog version.

The taps are spaced for a roughly sinusoidal (very roughly) delay in
the Hammond delay line. The reason is obvious. Switches wouldn't be
a good choice since the scanner, being a variable cap similar to the
expression cap, selects the taps gradually. It basically does a
crossfade from tap to tap. I think you should use a VCA or something
other than a switch or else the vibrato will be a bit rough.

I'll need to check the B4 again. I don't remember if they've nailed
the C/V. The thing I remember most about the B4 is that they didn't
get the generator sharing right.
