Hi Manuel,

I understand what you mean. Building a cover for your cabinet is a
clever idea. I didn't make one for mine, as I am a bit lazy, so I try
to be very careful when I move it, and put a blanket on it when it
rains outside.
You seem to know already pretty much what you want, but what I could
suggest for fixing the keyboard to the road case would be to use
velcro. I've tried other ways that are odd-looking and less
convenient. I would also use velcro for fixing the road case to the
"L" pipe on the stand. This way it's easy to remove the lower keyboard
and/or case if you need to use it by itself.
As for finishing, I think I would just apply gel stain (with a color
that matches the CX3) plus a few coats of varnish, for protecting the
wood and give a nice look.
As I said, I'm really not an expert, I hope this can help a bit!

cheers,

Martin
