Subject:Re: Leslie 145 Review

Dr Joho it's not that hard gigging with a 145. It's worth the effort.

I put mine in my Toyota 4Runner standing straight up. I have about
an inch and a half clearance. I'm sure it would fit most medium size
SUV's. I don't even use a handtruck. I had a 14 1/2x 33" scrap of
3/4" plywood that I put 2" casters in each corner on. It looks a
little like a wide skateboard. I screwed two 27 1/2" runners made
out of left over hardwood for skids underneath the Leslie. The
runners protect the bottom of the 145 as well as locking it onto the
dolly. The dolly is a little larger than the Leslie to allow you to
grab or hook your toe under the dolly to easy it across a door
threshold. I've got about a 5" drop between my kitchen floor to the
garage floor when I load at it handles it fine. Total cost; less
than $20.

If you often encounter flights of stairs, then "refrigerator dollies"
with the fan belt stair climbers and the cam lock strap are the bomb.
