He had his own band.
What a nice guy. The venue was unbelievable....thousands of bikers in an
Iowa fairground. We played in a huge metal shed with a dirt floor. Do you
think a little dust was kicked up? I have to clean the horse stuff off both
my keybaord cases. The weather could not have been any better....about 70
when we started playing....beautiful clear sky.....campfires
eveywhere.....biker drags.....
But the gig was a total gas. The crowd was really into it; maybe the best
gig we had all summer. When we got done, a couple guys got up with a flag
and some woman got up and sang the national anthem while Pat stood
"backstage", smiling and clapping his hands.
Very musical guy. Him, a drummer and bass player. All three sang; the
harmonies were real nice. I could hear a Hammond part on every song he
played but he has no Hammond player.
Carmine Appice and Tim Bogert were no where to be found....
