If you have the XK-3 set so that the MIDI inputs are considered
upper & lower manuals (not MIDI 1 and MIDI 2) I don't think it
matters what channel the roland is set to tx on.
If you turn Tx Program change on, you can set the XK-3 to use A# & B
preset keys for the 2 sets of drawbars, and send program changes (1 -
12 only) for the lower manual. If the Roland has sliders, you can
set those to act as lower manual drawbars. You may be able to send
other messages from the Roland to turn on/off other features of the
XK-3.
